After walking the red carpet, guests sat down to watch Penelope Cruz's new flick, Parallel Mothers, a Spanish drama that follows two single women who give birth on the same day.
The movie was a hit, with outlets reporting that the audience gave a 5-minute standing ovation!

The Harriet star made a statement in an Atelier Versace frock that had a thigh-high slit, allowing her to show off her tattooed thigh. While she opted for a neutral color for her sky-high heels, she picked a bold purple hue for her manicure.
After the event, Erivo posted a photo of her from the night, captioning the Instagram, "#alexa play “feeling myself” by @beyonce."

The model's dark Armani Privé gown featured sequined stripes and an embellished neck.

The actress turned heads in a black and white dress that was adorned with tassels, bows and puffed sleeves.
"I feel like the luckiest girl in the world getting to work with him for so many years," she declared of Pedro Almodovar directing the praised movie. "He has given me so many opportunities, so many characters that are so different from each other and so different (from) myself."
