The actress donned a velvet off-the-shoulder frock by Oscar de la Renta. The blue piece had puff sleeves and similar detailing in the front. She also wore a pair of metallic stiletto heels.
"Too many thanks to @oscardelarenta @elizabethstewart1 @genevieveherr & @robertvetica for helping me back onto the red carpet for The Dropout premiere," she captioned photos from the night.
In the series, the Mean Girls star portrays controversial Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. The eight-episode series "explores the riveting and unbelievable tale of one woman’s ambition, deception, downfall, and how it led to one of the world’s most infamous scandals," the streaming service teased.
Seyfried had a ball playing the businesswoman.
"F**k, that was fun. But it was also kind of nuts that it’s real," she told Variety. "I get to go home to my kids without having to deal with the consequences, I guess. So it’s bizarre."
The mom-of-two was joined on the carpet by Naveen Andrews, who plays her character's business partner and ex-boyfriend Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani. The Lost alum praised his costar's portrayal of Holmes.
"She came up behind me when we were actually doing camera tests, so we weren’t shooting, but she came in the black turtleneck with the lipstick and went straight up to me with the voice," he recalled, saying that Seyfried's ability to mimic Holmes' tone was "deeply unsettling."
The Oscar nominee said it took her about two weeks to perfect Holmes' voice.
"I think it was probably like week two of shooting, because I was at work 14 hours a day and it was more muscle memory than it ever was at home. In rehearsals, we were talking about the scenes and the story and the lines and then when I was really working I was like, ‘I’m here now, I’m warm, I’m comfortable and I think I can do this,’" she shared. "I mean I guess we never really think we can do it, and then all of a sudden here we are on a red carpet."
