Game On! The Baha Mar Cup Returns To The Bahamas This November — Get Details On The Celebrity Tennis Event
It's time to dust off your passport: the prestigious Baha Mar Resort in The Bahamas has announced that this year, the second-annual Baha Mar Cup will take place on Saturday, November 6.
The festivities kick off the day prior, on Friday, November 5, which is when guests will enjoy the Taste of SLS Baha Mar, an incredible dining experience boasting award-winning culinary personalities from Cleo, Carna by Dario Cecchini, Fi’lia and Katsuya.
The night will end with a performance by EGOT winner John Legend.
The next day, superstar athletes such as Andy Roddick, Mark Knowles, James Blake, Jennifer Brady and Cliff Drysdale will face off at the Baha Mar Racquet Club for an energetic tournament that benefits the Baha Mar Foundation's support for Mark Knowles Children's Tennis Initiative.
"It is a privilege to, again, be hosting The Baha Mar Cup and share the beauty and warmth of my home country with the world," shared Knowles, a multiple Grand Slam champion. "I am looking forward to being part of such an amazing initiative and am overjoyed to have these efforts benefit the Mark Knowles Children's Tennis Initiative."
The morning of the competition, guests can play against the talent in a Pro-Am Tournament, and little ones can get in on the action by participating in the Youth Clinic. After the day's activities wrap up, there will be a farewell reception in addition to an auction and an awards ceremony.
Guests will also feast on a meal prepared by six-time James Beard award-winning celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson at his new restaurant, Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House.
"Following the success of our inaugural tennis tournament that took place in 2019, we are thrilled to announce the return of the Baha Mar Cup this November," announced Baha Mar's President Graeme Davis. "We are both honored and humbled to welcome back our loyal guests, friends, celebrated athletes and supporters who will join us for a weekend filled with an array of tennis and culinary activities, as we continue to raise awareness and funds to support the Bahamian youth tennis community, enhance public tennis facilities and provide opportunities for at risk children."
In 2019, the event raised over $100,000 for those affected by Hurricane Dorian. To find out more about the Baha Mar Cup, visit their website.
