Ready To Relive The 2000s? Berry-Flavored Pepsi Blue Is Making A Comeback, And We Have All The Details!
Pepsi is jumping on the nostalgia craze by announcing the return of Pepsi Blue, which hasn't been available since 2004.
Earlier this week, the company tweeted a promo that debuted an updated bottle and had the iconic track "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65 playing in the background.
"Feels like a good #TBT to announce this – throwing it back to 2002… #PepsiBlueIsBack," their message read.
The brand then gave an official announcement to confirm the news.
"For years, passionate Pepsi Blue fans have been clamoring for the return of their beloved berry cola, and now Pepsi Blue is hitting shelves," the statement reads. "Just in time for the warming weather, the unique & unmistakable vibrant blue hue of Pepsi Blue returns with a new bottle and packaging design that calls out for safe and responsible summertime activities, from marathon barbecues to afternoons by the pool or binge-watching comfortably in the AC."
"It was one of your best drinks in my opinion," noted one fan, while another one gushed, "It feels so good that you guys actually listened!! Thank you!"
Starting May 2, you'll be able to find a bottle of the brightly colored sip anywhere Pepsi is sold, but it's only here for the summer season — so act fast! At the moment, it will be available in 20 oz. bottles or a 6 or 8 pack of 16.9 oz each.
And don't worry — Pepsi's marketing VP Todd Kaplan assured drinkers that the soda will indeed "turn your tongue blue."
Pepsi has been pumping out several new varieties over the past few years. Most recently, they teamed up with Peeps to release what they called a "delicious" soda that combined "the crisp, refreshing taste of PEPSI cola with the pillowy-soft and sweet PEEPS® Marshmallow flavor consumers love."
The product was in limited supply and only available ahead of Easter.
Shortly before that, Pepsi Mango was released, marking the first new permanent flavor for the brand in five years. The cola comes in regular and zero sugar varieties, and features "a splash of delicious mango juice" to the original drink.
