Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour Concert Film, Hitting Theaters on December 1
Between the massive box office success of Barbie and the economy-stimulating power of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour (and its upcoming film!), 2023 has shown the power of entertainment that caters to women. Barbie earned more than $1 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film in Warner Bros. history. Meanwhile, the Eras Tour concert film broke AMC's single-day sales records just three hours after the ticket presale began.
Beyoncé's team has clearly taken note of this — and she has announced a Renaissance World Tour concert film!
When is the premiere date for 'Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé'?
On October 1 — the same day as the last leg of the Renaissance World Tour in Kansas City, Missouri— Beyoncé's production/entertainment company, Parkwood Entertainment, teased the movie announcement via Instagram. A 14-hour countdown reminder appeared on the company's Instagram Story, prompting excitement and speculation from fans.
When the timer ran out, the movie was announced: Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé will hit theaters on December 1.
Per an October 2 news release, the film "accentuates the journey of Renaissance World Tour, from its inception to the opening show in Stockholm, Sweden, to the grand finale in Kansas City, Missouri."
The news release continued: "It is about Beyoncé's intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft."
Beyoncé recorded two Renaissance Tour shows in Houston, Texas, for her upcoming concert film, Deadline reported.

A 2-minute trailer for Beyoncé's concert film dropped alongside the announcement.
"When I am performing, I am nothing but free," she says as clips play of her backstage preparing for a concert. "The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged. You're unique."

Will Blue Ivy be in the new concert film?
Longtime fans will know that this isn't Beyoncé's first concert film. In 2019, her documentary Homecoming dropped on Netflix, chronicling the making of her 2018 Coachella set.
One difference between that set and the Renaissance Tour is that Beyoncé' and Jay-Z's eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, joined her mom on stage as a dancer. (The power couple also share twins, Rumi and Sir.) The 11-year-old can certainly bust a move!
