Blake Lively Admits She's 'Very Shy' During Photoshoots — But Embraces Playing a 'Character' on Screen
Even A-list movie stars get nervous sometimes!
Blake Lively recently admitted going from an actress to a model for glamorous photoshoots isn't the easiest thing for her despite being one of the most stunning beauties in Hollywood.
"I’m a very shy person, so I don’t like doing photoshoots, really. Because when I’m acting, I’m playing a character. And I don’t…I don’t feel super comfortable in front of a camera. It’s part of why I don’t want to be in a magazine," the fashion maven explained in an interview. "I know it’s not something I’m supposed to say."
Despite starring in one of the biggest blockbusters of the year — It Ends with Us — Lively has become better accustomed to her family environment with her four kids and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, over strutting her stuff for photographers. "My life has become more intimate," the Gossip Girl alum added. "Gracing these pages is not my gift to the world. I understand I’m lucky to do it."
Not only does Lively thrive while filming, she also has a knack for writing. "My husband did an interview where they asked, 'What's something surprising that people don't know about your wife?' And he said: 'It's that she's a writer. She writes on every movie she works on,'" she revealed.
When asked if she would ever pen her own script from scratch, she explained, "A blank page is not nearly as exciting to me as starting with a script and finding something people have overlooked."
"Saying no, no, no, there’s something there! To me, it’s a treasure hunt. And so when I can see the treasure, then I get to be an archaeologist. I get to excavate, I get to carve it out and find this thing and show people the value in it. That, to me, is what I love," the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress said.
As Morning Honey previously reported, Lively has been outspoken about being a well-rounded person for her daughters to look up to. "I want to be as present of a mother as humanly possible and I want them to feel my presence," she revealed in a separate interview about being a working parent.
"But I also think the best way to be the best mother is to show them that you can have a life and have a passion and have an identity outside of just being a mother," Lively added. "I mean, being a mother is completely all-encompassing, and that doesn't mean there are a lot of mothers who don't have the opportunity to work as well, but just having your [own] identity is, I think, very important. And teaching them that they can maintain themselves and that everything is possible [is crucial]."
