It's been a while since Cameron Diaz has graced the big screen, and the actress made it clear that she has no plans to return at the moment.
"I think you probably can relate to this," Diaz told Kevin Hart on his show Hart to Heart about how she decided she wanted to leave the industry. "When you do something at a really high level for a really long period of time, there's a lot that — when you're the person who's sort of delivering on this one thing. You're the person on the screen, you're the person who's 'the talent' — everything around you, all parts of you that isn't that, has to be handed off to other people."
Although Diaz hasn't been in a film since 2014 — she starred in Annie — she revealed she still has a soft spot for showbiz.
"It's fun to do, I love it, I love acting," the blonde beauty shared. "I feel like I was really lucky because I had people I worked with for 20 years who I know they have my best interest but for me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me. My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself."
But once she got married to Benji Madden and they welcomed daughter Raddix, she knew she needed to focus on her brood.
“My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself. It’s amazing. I feel full. I met my husband, we started a family,” she explained. “All those things that I didn’t have the time for before, and not just didn’t have the time for, but didn’t have the space to make the right decisions for me at the time. I feel whole.”
The mom-of-one previously reflected on stepping away from the spotlight while talking with Gwyneth Paltrow.
“I got a peace in my soul because I finally was taking care of myself,” she said. “There’s a lot of energy coming at you at all times when you’re really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there. And I’m sensitive to energy.”
