Back On The Met Steps! Cast Of 'Gossip Girl' Reboot Spotted Filming In The Big Apple — See Photos
Spotted! On March 9, the cast of HBO Max's Gossip Girl reboot was seen shooting scenes for the highly anticipated drama in Manhattan. The series stars newcomers including Whitney Peak, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock and Jordan Alexander, though producer Joshua Safran revealed to OK! that they're "trying to have cameos in every episode," meaning we could see Blake Lively, Penn Badgley or Leighton Meester grace the screen.
The actors sat on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, an iconic spot for the characters in the original show. Keep scrolling to see the young cast in their fashionable costumes!
Sitting pretty! Eli Brown and Whitney Peak (right) were dressed to impress while filming in front of the MoMA. "There’s a lot of representation, which I can't say we saw a lot of in the first one," noted Peak of the diverse cast.
According to OK!, the first season of the drama will consist of 12 episodes. "We'll be exploring what it means to be a woman in this generation, and in general, exploring ideas that we didn't before," shared Lind (left) when giving the scoop on the series.
Like the original, fashion will play a major role in the show. "You go into your fittings and you just feel like you're six years old, playing dress-up every day," gushed Lind, who filmed in an oversized cardigan.
Smile on! Alexander (left) declared each character will have a "trademark style," pointing out that their outfits are "something that reflects who the characters are."
Lind revealed the reboot will cover topics "that used to be different or taboo."
"It's dope being able to see people who look like you and who are interested in the same things, and who happen to be in entertainment, because it’s so influential and obviously reflective of the times," Peak explained.
"These are new characters, new storylines," Lind insisted while chatting with DAZED. "It's a new generation."
However, Alexander noted, "We're just keeping an open mind, staying true to the essence of Gossip Girl but with a completely different take on it."
