Chance The Rapper And Ben & Jerry's Unveil A Sweet, Charitable Ice Cream Flavor: Mint Chocolate Chance
Chance the Rapper and Ben & Jerry's have announced one cool collaboration: a brand new flavor, Mint Chocolate Chance!
The star helped create the treat that's a mint base filled with pieces of fudge brownies. The combo, which will hit shelves in the first quarter of next year, was inspired by his own childhood.
"I'm so excited to have my own flavor of ice cream with Ben & Jerry's. I grew up with their ice cream as a kid, so getting to create a new flavor brought back a lot of great memories," he shared. "It amazes me that no one thought to combine brownies and mint chocolate chip and I can't wait to share it with everyone."
The dessert comes in two options: regular and non-dairy, with the latter being made with sunflower butter.
Like several of Ben & Jerry's confections, a portion from every purchase of Mint Chocolate Chance — which will be a permanent addition to their varied lineup — will be donated to the "Holy" crooner's nonprofit organization SocietyWorks.
He founded the group in 2016, and since then, it's helped kids in Chicago "to learn and act on their passions," as it "focuses on education, mental health, homelessness, and performing and literary arts."
Upon the announcement, the star told fans to comment on his post with an ice cream emoji so he could select a lucky few and send them a pint free of charge!
"CONGRATS CHANCE! THIS IS HUGE!" his dad wrote on the Instagram post, which currently has nearly 5,000 comments.
It's the Grammy winner's caring attitude that made him a great candidate to be a Ben & Jerry's ally.
"Chance the Rapper is a tremendous talent and inspiration," said Ben & Jerry's CEO Matthew McCarthy. "Through his flavor we hope to inspire creativity in the next generation and to spread the word about SocialWorks in a delicious way."
The ice cream brand also enlisted Greystone Bakery to provide the brownies for the concoction specifically because of their dedication to having "inclusive employment."
Last year alone, the Ben & Jerry's Foundation granted $3.4 million to support progressive, justice focused grassroots organizing around the country.
