'Friends' Forever! Courteney Cox Posts A Sweet Selfie With 'Gem Of A Human Being' Matt LeBlanc To Mark His Birthday
She'll be there for you! On July 25, Courteney Cox made a social media post to celebrate Friends costar Matt LeBlanc turning 54.
"Happy Birthday to this GEM of a human being @mleblanc," she captioned an Instagram Story selfie of them, adding a few red heart emojis.
The Friends cast reunited on camera earlier this year to film a special for HBO Max. In the show, Cox and LeBlanc chatted with their fellow costars — Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer — in addition to recreating a few iconic scenes and touring their old sets.
The special was a hit with fans and critics alike, earning four Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, the latter highlighting Ben Winston.
Cox reacted to the news by posting a photo from the show alongside the caption, "The one where we are incredibly grateful to the Academy for this honor and especially thankful for @mrbenwinston and his entire team for their outstanding achievement."
Though the filmed reunion marked the first time the cast got together on screen since the 2004 finale, the Cougar Town star has remained tight with Aniston and Kudrow.
In fact, the trio posted a selfie together as they celebrated the Fourth of July together, and a few months prior, they gathered at the Morning Show star's house for the 2020 Emmys.
Despite their bond, Kudrow recently revealed that she struggled with body image during the show's original run since she had a "different body type" than the other two women.
"It's not that I felt horrible around them," she noted. "Fittings were not fun, that's for sure. I'm just bigger and sometimes the clothes, when I'd see the show, were so sort of full of volume."
There was one scene in particular that stood out for the actress.
"It was only this one moment where I hugged [Cox and Aniston] but there was no sleeve. It was just like, I enveloped them," she recalled. "I felt like this mountainous thing that swallowed them alive."
