Disney World Is Giving 50 Good Samaritans A Free Trip To The Parks In Honor Of Its 50th Anniversary!
Grab your mouse ears! To celebrate Disney World's 50th anniversary this fall, the resort is holding the Disney Magic Makers contest, which will award 50 individuals with a free trip to the park!
From now until October 1, you can nominate a special someone to receive the prize by "sharing the positive impact" they've had on your life or someone else's.
To submit your entry, visit disneymagicmakers.com.
"All of us at Disney have been inspired by the countless acts of goodwill by people across the country throughout the pandemic," stated Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks Experiences and Products. "These magic makers and their stories have changed us in ways we never imagined. That’s why we’re so proud to celebrate those who continue to make everyday magic a reality."
And if you're concerned that your nominee's good deed isn't significant enough, think again.
"Magic moments come in all shapes and sizes, from simple, sincere acts between neighbors to massive acts of charity, kindness and generosity," the contest description reads. "What binds these special moments together is the way they raise spirits, inspire communities, and connect people to one another."
In addition to the free trip, the 50 winners will receive a one-year subscription to Disney+. The Disney company is also donating $400,000 to various charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Though most people celebrate their birthday for just one night, Disney World is marking their 50th anniversary with an 18-month long party. Starting on October 1, new shows and events will pop up across all four parks.
To start, there will be two new spectacular fireworks shows that will be enhanced with pyrotechnics, fountains and projections. You should also be on the lookout for gold character statues, which will debut in different areas.
The first day of the celebration will also mark the unveiling of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, a ride based on the beloved animated flick, located in Epcot's World Showcase.
"In this 4D ride experience, join Chef Remy on a daring culinary caper that will captivate all your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant," the description reads. "C’est magnifique!"
