Ed Sheeran Looks & Feels Healthier Than Ever — And He Credits It All To Just 2 Simple Lifestyle Changes
Ed Sheeran is the first to admit that he has a tendency to overindulge in food and beer, but now that he's a father, he decided to put in some serious effort when it came to shaping up.
"It's the first time I've been really healthy," the "Perfect" crooner confessed on BBC Radio1 last week. "I've kind of stopped all the bad habit stuff in my life. Started exercising every day. I was eating like a takeaway every single day, and now I don't eat takeaway every single day and it's been good."
Sheeran noted that being home amid the pandemic instead of performing around the globe also contributed to his slimmed down bod.
"It happened pretty much as soon as tour ended, it just happened," he said of the pounds falling off. "And because I wasn't having chicken wings and two bottles of wine a night."
The Grammy winner previously revealed that after he quit smoking cigarettes, he began going on runs alongside wife Cherry Seaborn.
"I was very aware that my lungs were so full of s**t that I needed to clear them out," he said of what inspired him to take up the cardio workout. "Gyms are good but there's nothing like fresh air to really give you a clean out. That's, for me, the main reason why I started doing it."
Now that his hiatus from the spotlight is over, he's ready to get back on stage. And though he's been hard at work recording new tunes, he admitted that whenever he sings around the house, his daughter, Lyra, who was born last August, "just cries!"
"Not my biggest fan," he quipped.
"No, I've got some she likes," he said. "She really likes 'Shape of You.' The marimba sound is good, but she doesn't like anything loud or anything belt-y."
Sheeran has yet to post a photo of his little girl, but he did take a moment to announce her birth via social media.
"Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her," he gushed on Instagram. "Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x."
