'Emily in Paris' Star Lucas Bravo Reveals Why His Character Gabriel's Hair Was So Long Throughout Season 4
Lucas Bravo has gone through many different looks during his time on Emily in Paris.
The French actor, 36, had fans of the beloved Netflix series perplexed as his character Gabriel's hair went from a very short cut to a longer 'do throughout the span of Season 4.
"I have been trying to have longer hair on the show since Season 1," Bravo said, addressing the confusion in a recent interview. "And since only one day passes in between Seasons [3 and 4], if I need to have long hair on a season, then I need to go through the transition phase where you have s----- hair and it doesn't look like anything."
Despite the awkward look, The Honeymoon actor assured when the series, which was recently renewed for Season 5, returns, he will be rocking the luscious hair he always desired. "[I decided] to sacrifice Season 4 in order to have long hair in Season 5," he admitted.
"I just wanted something different. I am always clean-shaven and five months of [constantly] shaving is not very nice for your skin or your soul," he added.
Bravo, who plays a chef and one of Lily Collins' love interests in the series, was almost not cast in the show after he claimed Paramount did not “want to take a chance on” him because they felt he didn't have “enough background" in the industry.
“I wanted to be in a place where there's no service, and I could just talk to birds, so to speak," the hunky actor explained of fleeing to the mountains after receiving the disappointing news.
"A hiker came by, and he was like, ‘Can I borrow your phone? I really need to call my daughter,’" he continued. "I gave him my phone, he left, never came back. He later told me, ‘Your phone was vibrating left and right when I got service, so you should check it out.’ And I was like, ‘No, no, no. I'm here to forget this Emily in Paris thing.'"
Luckily the next day, Bravo gave into the pressure and decided to check his notifications. "In the morning, I woke up like, ‘I should take a look at it,'" he remembered before finding out he had 40 messages and 30 missed calls from people trying to get ahold of him. “It was the casting director telling me, ‘Where are you?’"
In the follow hours, the Ticket to Paradise alum was on a plane to Paris. "The official Gabriel had signed his contract, did a table read, [and] was about to start," he spilled.
