Erin Andrews knows what it's like to hustle — the star, who rose to fame as a correspondent on ESPN before joining Fox News in 2012, works endless hours covering sports, in addition to having her podcast, "Calm Down With Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson," and her clothing line, WEAR.
As a result, the blonde beauty has learned to rely on her loved ones to help her out when she needs it. "You have to have the right team around you, and that includes my family and my husband. I'm beyond grateful," the 46-year-old, who is a sufferer of chronic dry eye, is teaming up with Miebo from Bausch + Lomb to spread awareness and help others find relief from dry eye symptoms, exclusively tells Morning Honey. "My husband [Jarret Stoll] has helped to make this all possible."
"But he kind of knew this about me. I was like, 'If you're going to be part of my life, my job is part of the relationship.' He knows how much happiness it brings me and all that. I know his jobs brings him happiness," she adds of Stoll, who used to play professional hockey. "You just need a really great support team around you. I have that with my family and friends, and it's not possible without them."
The broadcaster, who welcomed son Mack Roger Stoll via surrogate in 2023, knows that her job comes with tough hours. "There are some times when I just want to be home and laying on the couch on a Saturday, but I truly love being busy," she shares. "We have such a great tight knit group at Fox, and they really are my best friends. We have a great group, and I'm doing what I truly love."
Andrews has been "consistent" in her field — something her college professor at the University of Florida taught her, which helped her get to where she is today. "He just said, 'You have to love it.' I miss Thanksgiving every year with my family, I've missed Christmas the last five years in a row, I miss weddings, I am gone every single weekend. I miss a lot of stuff. I didn't get married until later in my life. I didn't have a baby until later in life. A lot of my personal stuff was put on hold because I loved my job and I wanted to be part of it," she says. "I sacrificed that. You have to really love it, and you can't fake it. It's a grind, but it's the coolest grind out there."
Andrews just wants to continue to make waves in the sports industry, which is predominately male.
"The bottom line I just love sports so much. I love covering the NFL," she continues. "I love having the best seat in the house. I love being up closer and personal with the players, I love getting to know these athletes and how they got to where they are and what it takes for them to be able to play week in and out and the adjustments they've had to make. I love how personable the coaches are. While I do appreciate the accolades and what I've done to bring sports forward, it's such an organic thing for me because I love it so much. It's what I'm most interested in. It's like my Bravo TV! It's my favorite thing to follow and read up on."
Since the mom-of-one is on TV and constantly reading screens — from a prompter to her phone, it made sense for her to partner with Miebo from Bausch + Lomb to spread awareness and help others find relief from dry eye symptoms.
"How many people look at a computer screen? How many people look at their iPad? For me, I'm an airplane twice to maybe four times a week, I'm in different hotels, I'm in different cities, I'm up late working, I'm watching TV and games, I'm prepping for the next game. I kind of always thought the feeling in my eye was because I was tired. I was always blinking really hard and my eyes felt gritty," she reveals.
"I just thought that was just from being up all the time or doing all of the studying, but it was actually dry eye," she continues about the importance of eye health (nearly 38 million Americans are affected by dry eye disease, but only about 1.5 million are on a prescription medication). "I talked to my doctor about it and he prescribed me Miebo from Bausch + Lomb, which is the only prescription eye drop that directly targets tear evaporation. You have to check out what works for you, but it worked for me, and I love it. I was talking to one of my coworkers this past week, and he just had something over the counter. I told him to check out Miebo because it will really help your symptoms."
