Gigi Hadid Gushes Over Being A Mom To Daughter Khai: 'It's So Much Fun'
Gigi Hadid is giving an exciting update on motherhood! The supermodel said that being a mom to her 2-year-old daughter, Khai — whom she shares with ex Zayn Malik, 29 — is a "blessing."
The 27-year-old added that Khai is a genius, though that's what everyone says about their kid. "It's so much fun," she revealed. "The more that she talks, and understands, and remembers, it just gets more and more fun."
Hadid noted that her daughter loves waking up early. "Oh, so mobile, from so early in the morning," she said. "So mobile. Jumping off things. Very brave, which is great but, you know. We're practicing doing dangerous things carefully. That's what I'm gonna go for."
Hadid and the One Direction alum welcomed Khai — their first child — in September 2020. Khai was born in Pennsylvania, despite Hadid planning to give birth in a New York hospital. The duo changed their minds after watching a documentary on the American healthcare system. Besides, COVID-19 restrictions at that time meant that her mother, Yolanda Hadid, 58, and her supermodel sister, Bella Hadid, 25, couldn't make it to New York in time for the birth.
"Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful," Malik announced the birth of his daughter on Twitter at that time. "To try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x."
"Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she's already changed our world. So in love🥺💕," she continued.
Malik previously opened up about adjusting to the role of a dad in an interview from March 2021. "A lot of people that I was speaking to, obviously, before she was born and stuff were like, 'It's a big adjustment, and it's going to be a massive change and stuff,'" he explained. "But honestly, she's an amazing baby."

The catwalk queen also spoke about her birth story to Vogue, while Malik opened up about being a father in an interview with iHeartRadio's Valentine in the Morning.
