Photographer Gray Malin is used to photographing locations — the iconic umbrella picture, which was taken in Italy, is everyone's vacation inspiration — but for his new photo series, "Dogs of New York City," he got to work with some pretty pawsome pups!
The Texas native photographed dogs all around New York City — from the Top of the Rock to in front of the Plaza — and they all came out incredible.
“'Dogs of New York City' is a celebration of a beloved city and some of its most playful and colorful residents – dogs! This series allowed me to highlight some of the most famous and cherished spots in the city through stylized vignettes captured by my playful lens. New York has always been a source of inspiration for me as an artist – it is charming, luxurious and iconic," Malin told Morning Honey in a statement. "I’ve always been a dog lover, and it was a joy to feature such dynamic subjects in a city that me — and so many others — love.”
It can be difficult to shoot in Manhattan — let alone with some dogs — but Malin was able to pull it off.
"Those locations together told a story about New York," he shared. "It's not the full story but it's a story."
On September 28, the artist announced his latest venture via Instagram.
"Introducing my new series, Dogs of New York City✨🐶 You’re invited to a fantasy world of fashionable dogs enjoying iconic locations in NYC. Explore the collection now at the link in profile xx Pictured: Welcome to New York," he wrote.
Of course, people immediately gushed over the new collection. Actress Sophia Bush wrote, Okay this is a DREAM 😍," while another added, "This is amazing! Love it!! 💗."
A third user added, "So cool really love this 😍."
"Dogs of New York City" is available for purchase on Malin's website or digital prints available on the Gray Malin App for Apple TV.
