Hilarie Burton Gushes Over Friends Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris for Supporting Her During a Difficult Year: 'That's Real Love'
Hilarie Burton is showing her gratitude for the people who have gotten her through tough times.
The One Tree Hill alum, 42, took to Instagram on Monday, October 28, to reveal she went through a grueling period where she was finding it hard to balance her personal and professional lives. Luckily, she had amazing friends like Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris to support her.
"Last year I was working too much. And I was unhappy," Burton began alongside a slew of snaps from her children's school Halloween function. "And so I made a choice to change how I worked so that I would have more time to participate in my kids' lives."
The White Collar actress went on to detail how involved she's gotten with her community and emphasized how much the rewards of having the time to connect with those around her have paid off. "I’m sleeeeeeeepy. But also SO happy. I love seeing these kids light up, and watching more and more parents join in all the fun," she continued.
Before giving credit to her A-list pals, who began dating in 2023, Burton thanked her spouse, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. "I also love how supportive my husband @jeffreydeanmorgan is. Still a flutter when that dude walks in the door," the mother-of-two, who wed The Walking Dead actor, 58, in 2019, penned.
"And I LOVE that my angels @sophiabush and @ashlynharris24 surprised us with a visit and got a real taste of small-town community. Worlds colliding and showing up for each other in fun random ways……that’s real love, babes," she continued.
"Halloween isn’t a holiday that is typically affiliated with 'love'. But for me? This is when we shower each other with creativity and effort and mischief and CANDY! And what could be more loving than that?!?! Love our community. Love my friends. Love my family. Stay Spooky, everyone. Xoxoxoxo," Burton concluded her profound update.
The Summer Villa star and the Junction actress, 42, first met while starring on the hit CW series and have stayed close ever since. "Hilarie grew up in a big family but doesn't have sisters and I grew up on my own. In this very interesting way, we're two sides of the same coin and we're exactly the same person. We’re so different and we are so similar," Bush said in an interview earlier this year about Burton. "She really is the closest thing in the world that I have to a sister. She's absolutely precious and priceless to me.”
