Kate Hudson Is All About Cheering People on in Order to Achieve Their Fitness Goals
Kate Hudson is helping people stay motivated just a few weeks into 2024.
The star, who has been candid about gaining and losing weight over the years, teamed up with MyFitnessPal, a health and fitness tracker, to help others live their best lives.
"I think people are realizing, when the world is on fire, we need to rally for each other, support each other, love each other and try to change how we do things and just connect," the actress, 44, told People in an interview.
"And honestly," she added, "it starts in the home, and it starts with individual choices."
The blonde beauty asks herself certain questions in order to work on her specific goal.
"What makes you feel good? How do we get there? Why are we in a place right now where people are feeling so much anxiety and sadness, and how do we get people to get excited about making small steps for big wins?" she asked.
"I think everybody in the fitness, nutrition, health and wellness community, we have a real shared passion," she continued. "And when you create that support, you live it together, and you keep each other accountable. You cultivate those people in your life, but there's a lot of people out there that don't have that support."
Instead of restricting herself, the singer enjoys little treats here and there.
"I don't eat a lot of sugar; I don't eat a lot of bread. I'm not a big drinker but I love a cocktail — old fashioneds, Negronis, dirty martinis, and I love wine. So if I'm like 'hey, Bri [Brian Nguyen is her trainer], I gotta get it in my tip-top shape,' he's like, 'well, that's the one thing we're going to watch.' I like a good cocktail but I also like to feel good; I like to feel healthy. I like to sleep — too many cocktails and sleeping do not go well together. So I say 'be mindful of alcohol; don't cut it out,'" she told Real Simple.
"Being healthy takes so much discipline. There's this wild misconception that because you have means, it means that someone is being disciplined for you. The truth is, I work really hard and that doesn't come because I'm not disciplined," she added. "I'm disciplined by nature. I think it came from sports when I was young. I loved sports. Dance was a huge part — not wanting to go to dance class but my mom made me go. The early brain patterning helped me in my future. I always say to moms, get your kids in sports. Rani [Kate's 5-year-old daughter] is in soccer; she's in dance. They need to see you doing it; that's the biggest thing. They want to follow suit and do the workout with you."
