Lana Condor just wants to make the world a better place!
The star recently partnered with 3M to support and present its docuseries Green Works at the 2024 Fast Company Innovation Festival, where she couldn't help but gush over her latest venture. "I definitely hope to be able to use my platform even more. I do love being in places like this where I get to meet people. I'd love to do more events like this and more speaking opportunities," the actress, 27, exclusively told Morning Honey while at the premiere in New York City on Wednesday, September 18.
"I'm really into education. I have a nonprofit that has a scholarship that supports education for young women in Vietnam, so I like to be on the ground for these types of things. Hopefully there will be more opportunities where I can lend my voice for a greater cause — which is what we're doing here!" she continued.
The To All the Boys I've Loved Before lead was on hand to see the global docuseries, which spotlights five inspiring individuals tackling climate challenges through roles in renewable energy, auto electrification, climate education, reforestation and sustainable fashion.
Award-winning director Julio Palacio takes audiences on a global journey to show the impact of green jobs on the future of our planet and brings attention to the critical need for more talent to support the green transition.
"I'm really so excited to be here. I actually just flew in last night from Budapest, and I'm flying back today!" she said of her busy schedule. "But I'm really, really, really excited to be here. I've watched the docuseries, and it's really wonderful. It's Greenworks and 3M's time to shine! In my opinion, knowledge is power, and the more people that can see this, the better. I think 3M making the decision to do this docuseries is huge because it's such a massive company. Hopefully other companies will be able to look to them and be like, 'Wow, this is something that's important to this massive company, so that means it should be important to us as well.' I'm very hopeful, and the docuseries is very inspiring. I hope people leave feeling empowered."
Ultimately, the brunette beauty wants people will learn a lot about how to preserve the earth going forward. "My hope is that people will come out of watching this film being like, 'OK, anything that I can offer makes a difference.' I know sometimes it feels like, 'Well, I'm one person, and this issue is so big. What can I do?' I think it just starts with one person, and it's so true," she shared. "Changing your practices and your private life just a little bit, and then it snowballs. I hope that people feel empowered and believe they can make a difference!"
