Exclusive: Lisa Vanderpump Admits She 'Cried' When 'Vanderpump Rules' Was Nominated for 2 Emmys: 'It's Such a Compliment'
From restaurants to reality television and design — Lisa Vanderpump sure knows how to grab people's attention.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG has opened numerous popular eateries around the world, produced as well as starred in many beloved series, and is now bringing her signature design atheistic to the masses with her new Vanderpump Blooms x Bloom Haus™ floral collection — which is available in Kroger stores now.
Vanderpump exclusively chats with Morning Honey about her candid reaction when she found out Vanderpump Rules was nominated for two Emmys, her decision to bring Stassi Schroeder on to Vanderpump Villa and what went into putting together her flower collaboration.
"When I heard for the first time last year, they told me, 'You've been nominated for two Emmys,' I was on my own. Funny enough, I was in the flower market. I had gone in the car with all these flowers as I do and I cried," she admits about the special moment ten seasons into the Bravo spin-off.
In 2024, the series was given a third nomination for its tumultuous 11th installment. "I thought, 'This is amazing. It's enough.' It's enough for me as a television producer to be acknowledged," the mogul explains. "When you see people and they don't win or they say, 'It was just enough being nominated,' it truly is. Of course, I want to win. I want to have that thing! But it's such a compliment."
Vanderpump scored another big hit with her new Hulu series, which will feature one of her former SUR employees Schroeder in the coming installment. "She's a little more mature now," the businesswoman says of the Next Level Basic author. "She's ambitious and driven. It's good to have her on this show for sure."
When she's not creating amazing television, Vanderpump remains focused on making the world a more beautiful place. "There are many components that make us feel better. If I walk into a room that doesn't have flowers, it doesn't seem to have the same life or the same love. It's almost like looking at a cushion that hasn't been puffed. I really only want to do things that I'm excited about," she notes of the perfect partnership and collection that features bouquets and readymade floral arrangements in custom vases.
"I've always been like that, even when I had no money struggling in the early days. There might be one roast on the table surrounded by three bouquets of flowers," the U.K. native dishes.
As for what will make your floral arrangements stand out even more, Vanderpump says, "Lighting proportion and making big statements!"
"Our restaurants are kind of go bold or go home kind of atheistic. It's maximalist — but also we make it immersive. It's all about having it be the most unforgettable of experiences," the star says.
