'Exhausted' Maksim Chmerkovskiy Admits Life With 3 Kids Is 'Difficult'
Maksim Chmerkovskiy isn't sugarcoating how hard it is to be a parent.
The Dancing With the Stars pro took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 20, to open up about how much life has changed since he and his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, welcomed their third child.
"I just want to check in. You guys were wondering what it's like. It's uh ... interesting. It's difficult," Chmerkovskiy said while on a walk with his son Rio, 1.
"This one is more mine," the entertainer, who also shares Shai, 7, and Milan, born earlier this month, with his spouse, 38, said referencing his middle child who was with him for the stroll. "The new one is attached to Peta, literally and figuratively. And the 7-year-old sort of belongs to himself at the moment."
"And so, here's the thought that I had," the father-of-three continued. "I look at [Shai] and I'm like, 'D---, I miss the days when he was a baby. And then I turn around and I got a baby."
"But this one, we're like, 'Oh my God, he's so big. Look at how big he's already gotten. Remember when he was just a little tiny 1-week-old?' And then bam, there's a tiny 1-week old right next to him. So, at the moment, we get to enjoy both sides of it. The current side, and the sort of reminiscing about what Shai used to be like as a baby, for example," Chmerkovskiy said.
In a second video, the patriarch continued, "We're also exhausted and my shoulder is stuck. It's called frozen shoulder. But it's okay."
The power couple welcomed the latest addition to their family earlier this month. "He is officially evicted from his mom and he is sooooo cute!!!!" they wrote in an Instagram announcement alongside a photo of Murgatroyd and their newborn lying in the hospital bed.
"Birth details later but for now we wanted to let you all know that mom and baby are doing perfect, and delivery took around 47 seconds total! Exactly one push! Also thank you all for the beautiful messages we have been receiving. Means a lot and very much appreciated #madeinPeta #threepeat πππ," Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd added.
Before completing their family, The Traitors alum revealed how happy they were to be having another kiddo. "We're excited," Chmerkovskiy gushed in an interview right before the little one's arrival. "The first one was like an out-of-body experience. The second was stress about doing it right. This one is exciting. I want him to come out. I want us to be done and complete and move on."
Us Weekly conducted the interview with the dancer.
