In The Spirit! Mariah Carey's Upcoming Christmas Special Features A Cameo From Her Kids & A New Holiday Song
If there's anything we know about Mariah Carey, it's that she loves Christmas!
As a follow-up to 2020's Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special, the star will debut Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues on December 3 via Apple TV+.
The 30-second trailer begins with the singer standing on a festive stage while dressed in a glittering gold gown. The star belts out holiday tunes as dancers gather around her, and there's also a chorus dressed in red robes.
"I can't not celebrate Christmas with the world," the mom-of-two declared as it's revealed that Khalid and Kirk Franklin will also be performing their track with Carey, "Fall in Love at Christmas."
In between scenes from the concert, the superstar will be interviewed by Zane Lowe.
At the end of the clip, her and ex-husband Nick Cannon's 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, make an appearance.
"#TheMagicContinues with more joy, more sparkle and a bigger train! ✨🎁☃️," Carey announced on Instagram, in which she posted a shot of her stunning dress. "Warming up the sleigh and prepping the reindeer for our holiday extravaganza together! Arriving to your screens December 3rd on @appletvplus! 🎄✨☃️."
The Joseph Kahn-directed special is the second she's made with the streaming service, and her first received a nomination at the 2021 Emmys for Outstanding Contemporary Makeup For A Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Program (Non-Prosthetic), though it lost to Saturday Night Live's episode starring Elon Musk.
To get in the holiday spirit, Carey released her first ever line of Christmas merchandise, which includes wrapping paper, stockings, greeting cards, outfits for dogs, slippers, blankets and more.
"I’m not sure if you’re aware but Christmas is kind of my thing!" she shared. "Putting together this line was so much fun because I added my own festive spin to traditional holiday merchandise. I worked on it all year long and now it’s finally time to share my holiday collection with you all. Merry Christmas!"
The Mariah Carey Holiday Collection will be available at Target, Wal-Mart stores and at MariahCarey.com.
