Marie Osmond Is 'Feeling Good' and 'Having Fun' at 64 Years Old: 'I'm Grateful'
At 64 years old, Marie Osmond is thriving!
During a recent appearance on Fox & Friends on Friday, January 5, the singer discussed how she's been living life to the fullest — from skydiving to climbing Mount Sinai in Egypt to appearing on a soap opera.
"Since three years old, it always had to be, ‘You can’t break your leg, you’re under contract,’" she shared, adding that now "time to start doing things that I want to do."
"More than anything, I feel good and I’m having fun," she added. "Being a female who has been in this business working every year of my life consistently for over six decades, of course I’m grateful."
The Utah native has been promoting her partnership with Nutrisystem, as they now have a program designed for women over the age of 50 who want to lose weight that just won't come off.
"The reason is because when you hit 50, something just changes — especially women’s bodies," she said. "It’s designed to help with hormones and things like that, especially that middle fat."
“At 50, we as women — our hormones go crazy,” Osmond explained in another interview with Us Weekly. ”That middle [body] fat, that’s what ended up taking my grandmother’s and my mother’s life. And I knew genetically I was predisposed to it. So, [Complete 50] is the answer. I mean, if you want to go weigh it and cook it and measure it and do all the stressful things, but I just wanted to get the weight off. And they do it in such a great way that they give you foods that you crave. You don’t feel like you’re starving.”
The brunette beauty admitted she almost gave up amid her weight-loss journey, but her son advised her to keep going.
“My son came to me on behalf of all the kids. I was divorced, and they said, ‘Mom, you’re all we have,’” Osmond said. “That was so hard, because you know you’re overweight, and 50 pounds on me is a lot. And it was one of those knife-in-the-heart [moments] that I needed.”
