Mario Lopez just wants his children — Santiago, 4, Dominic, 10, and Gia, 13 — to pursue whatever their little hearts desire!
"Both my boys are wrestling right now, doing jiu-jitsu, singing, dancing, playing the piano. They're pretty diverse in their interests," the actor, 50, told Morning Honey on Monday, November 27, at SCL Footwear Group's Mario Lopez Footwear Launch Party in New York City. "My daughter is doing competitive cheer, gymnastics, singing, dancing and playing the piano! They are keeping us pretty busy."
Since the Saved by the Bell alum, who is married to Courtney Lopez, has been in the industry for decades, he gushed that it is the "best feeling in the world" to watch his children figure out what sparks joy for them.
"I just want them to be happy, healthy, and I'll be supportive of whatever they want to venture into," he declared.
The dad-of-three noted that his kids are "showing some interest" when it comes to acting and performing, which is fun for him and his wife to witness. "We met on Broadway in New York, so this is a special place for us. I'm not discouraging them one way or another," he said.
In the meantime, the Access Hollywood host is thrilled about his latest endeavor: his new shoe line!
"I've always wanted to get into footwear. I am a big sneaker head, and I've always loved sneakers. I love that you can wear them casually, but also dress them up with a suit at the same time. I think these do a great job of representing my style and vibe, where they are cool but not over the top," he shared of Mario Lopez Footwear. "Most importantly, it's cost effective for a lot of people out there, which is great. I love the price point, and I am excited the way things are trending right now."
"I really wanted to capture my sense of style, and I thought these did," he noted about the new kicks. "The colors are incredible — the blues, the tans, the bone. These crocodile ones are awesome. I love all the different flavors, and I am really happy with the way they turned out. The response has been really positive, so I am liking that!"
Mario is waiting for his boys to wear the new sneakers, as they have got a "pretty good sense" of style. "They know what they want it, and I just try to support it as long as it doesn't get too crazy!"
Though Mario also has an athleisure line, he thinks he might be dabbling in the fashion world more and more. "I want to make sure it represents who I am before we put it out. I try to do that before I put my name behind it," he said.
