Long gone are the Dry January days when casual drinkers order sparkling water at the bar. OK — well, maybe that still happens. But it doesn’t have to!

As people get ready for an alcohol-free month ahead: they can still look forward to yummy drinks, just without booze.

“Now there are so many imaginative, tasty nonalcoholic options available,” says Hilary Sheinbaum, sober curious expert and author of Going Dry: A Workbook. “Thankfully, there are nonalcoholic wines, beers, and spirits available throughout the year.”

Whether you’re a teetotaler already, or dipping your toes into your first Dry Jan (or somewhere sober curious in-between), there are plenty of places in the U.S. and abroad that serve NA beverages. The app BetterWithout helps thirsty patrons find bars and restaurants near them that serve nonalcoholic sips.

Of course, it’s important to mention that if you or anyone you know is struggling with alcohol dependence, please contact a medical expert. There are also apps such as Reframe that can help with science driven, stigma-free step-by-step support.
