Unlike some first-time parents, Nick Viall is looking forward to welcoming his daughter in the next few months.
"No nerves. I'm excited! I've waited my whole life to be a dad, and I don't really have any nerves. It's awesome. I have a lot of gratitude for the experience and my job is the easy one! I'm just here to support my partner, Natalie [Joy], however I can. We're super excited for our daughter to arrive and to able to enjoy her. I'm sure there will be stressful moments, but we're blessed we get to have her," the 43-year-old, who is partnering with Mucinex to introduce new Mucinex Kickstart – a powerful multi-symptom cold and flu relief with a morning jolt of instant cooling sensation that helps him power through days when he wakes up with pesky cold and flu symptoms, exclusively tells Morning Honey.
The Bachelor alum is eagerly anticipating watching the Green Bay Packers with his little one. "Honestly, whatever she's into, I just want to be a supportive parent," he notes. "I want to support her in her dreams and passions — that's all that matters to me. It's my job to help her make good decisions for herself and empower her to be whatever she wants to be. I've fantasized about having these conversations with her, but it's going to be great. I'm excited to see what she looks like, too!"
"We'll try to be present and enjoy it all," the reality star, who is set to marry Joy later this year, adds.
The pair, who got engaged in January 2023, are already discussing what their parenting tactics will be like. "Natalie jokes I'll be the pushover, and she'll be the tough cop," he says. "Natalie and I just focus on being a team, even in our relationship. I imagine we'll do the same as parents — put on a united front and be supportive and sometimes we'll have to be tough, but we're going to give her a lot of love."
"The Viall Files" podcast host has plenty of people to go to for advice, especially in Bachelor Nation — from Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert to Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon. However, since Viall is the second oldest of 11 kids, he's used to being around babies. "I'm somewhat familiar with it," he says. "Natalie has a lot of helpful tips from friends and all the crazy things she's experiencing for the first time, so that's been super helpful. The only thing we're focused on is being flexible. We're not sure what parenthood is going to bring us, but we know we have to be flexible and we'll just be happy to have our daughter."
Fortunately, Joy is doing "really great" in her pregnancy journey. "She's really been a trooper, and I just want to support her," he gushes. "But I think she's ready [to give birth]. She's anxious to meet our daughter, just like I am! But Natalie has been fantastic."
Since Viall's life is about to change, he is going to need to make sure he's in tip-top shape to take care of his child and partner all while working on Envy Media, an audio-first lifestyle company focused on pop culture and relationship-themed shows.
"It's always great to partner with a brand like Mucinex because I'm probably one of their best customers!" he quips. "They've very reliable. The Mucinex Kickstart is a game-changer. It's very helpful. I'm busy, I've got a kid on the way, I have a show to run and a team to run, and you can't afford to miss a day of work due to being sick. It's super helpful to allow you to try to get closest to normal when you're feeling down and have those cold and flu symptoms," he shares.
"It's great to have Mucinex Kickstart to help. So many people out there relate to being very busy and not being able to afford to have cold and flu symptoms, so if I can help spread the word, then that's amazing," he adds.
In order to stay healthy, Viall makes sure to have a "balanced and active lifestyle."
"Eat right, hydrate, stay healthy and active," he notes. "That's what I try to do. Nothing too crazy, just a normal, balanced lifestyle."
