Paris Hilton Gushes Over 'Iconic' Reboot of 'The Simple Life' With Nicole Richie: 'I'm So Excited'
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are gearing up for their big reality television return!
The Paris in Love star, 43, teased her and the Good News actress' upcoming The Simple Life reboot nearly 16 years after the hilarious series went off the air.
"I'm so excited to be doing this with Nicole on Peacock," Hilton gushed in a recent interview. "Nicole has been my best friend since we're 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her."
"Simple Life is such a special show," she added, looking back on their younger years. "This is just going to be so iconic and I can't wait for fans to see."
In May, the dynamic duo announced they would be joining forces once again for a new show. "New Era. Same Besties. 👯‍♀️ Coming soon to Peacock," they wrote in an Instagram post alongside a throwback snap.
Richie, 42, also dropped a few hints about what viewers can expect from her highly anticipated project with the DJ. "It’ll be something new but we’re very excited," she spilled. "Oh, I wish I could share more. I cannot right now but we’re so excited to shoot it. It’s been 20 years since we worked together and we’re just excited to create something really special."
Not only are the former socialites thrilled by series, but so is Nicole's father, Lionel Richie. "They haven't changed. Let me tell you something, those two scare me just standing next to each other," the music legend, 74, explained in a recent interview. "And I don't know if the world knows this, they started this mess, and I was the first guinea pig daddy to go along with this."
"When they first started doing things like driving down the freeway backwards and I kept saying, 'What are you guys doing?' [they'd say] 'It's reality television, Dad!' And now these two are back together, oh my god, world, hang on to your seat. Thank God I'm older and my medication will get me through this next phase of our lives," Lionel said of the ladies’ younger years. "I'm very happy for both of them."
The Simple Life launched in 2003 on and ran for five seasons. The series followed the Hollywood starlets taking on normal jobs in rural towns despite their glamorous upbringings. It was briefly canceled by the network in 2005 after a huge feud broke out between the stars but was brought back for the last two seasons on E! after the two patched things up.
