'Am I Doing The Right Thing?': Singer Pink Admits She Sometimes Second-Guesses Her Parenting Decisions
For Pink, choosing between her singing career and her family just isn't an option.
That's why the 41-year-old superstar brings along husband Carey Hart and their two kids whenever she embarks on a tour.
While having daughter Willow, 9, and son Jameson, 4, by her side can be fun, she confessed to PEOPLE that she sometimes second-guesses herself and her decisions.
"I'm always trying to figure out: 'Am I doing the right thing? Can a woman have it all? What does that even mean?' And the answer is no, most of the time you can't, and it feels like you're climbing Mount Everest," she noted. "But it's also so magical what I get to do and who I get to be in this life."
The "So What" crooner also feels a sense of pride that her unconventional family life set an example for other traveling parents.
"Touring with kids is impossible — and I did the impossible," she declared. "For a while there were a lot of other pop stars that were emailing me and calling me for the playbook on how to tour with kids, so I wrote a playbook for other moms."
"Their normal is different: We go on tour and have a ball pit in Mommy's dressing room. But they are normal kids. Jameson wants to be an astronaut," she shared. "Willow does gymnastics and reads Harry Potter and is convinced she's going to Hogwarts when she's 11, and I don't have the heart to tell her that she's not."
Despite the tots' sense of normalcy, Willow is already following in her famous mom's footsteps, as the pair released a duet: "Cover Me in Sunshine."
The tune was a hit, making into the top 10 charts in several countries — however, the budding star didn't seem to take notice of the success.
"She doesn’t care at all about any of this stuff. She doesn’t care at all," Pink revealed. "I was just in there messing around with this song, and she was like, ‘Can I sing on it?’ and I was like, ‘Sure.’ And she was like, ‘Cool, I’m going swimming.’"
