'Selling Sunset' Star Maya Vander Reveals She Had A Stillborn Birth 38 Weeks Into Her Third Pregnancy: 'Hardest Day Of My Life'
Maya Vander revealed via Instagram that her family has suffered a tragic loss: on December 9, the Selling Sunset star had a still birth.
"Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a still birth at 38 weeks," she stated in her caption alongside a photo of a baby blanket and clothes, seen below. "I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone."
"What was a regular weekly checkup turned into a nightmare that I never imagine [sic] will happen to me. Given I share my pregnancies in the show I knew I’ll have to post about this and avoid the 'when is your due date' question," the Netflix star continued. "You will always be in our heart baby Mason."
The pregnancy was the third for Vander, who also shares son Aiden, 2, and 18-month-old daughter Elle with her husband. For each of her pregnancies, she shared the news with her colleagues on camera, and they offered words of support in her recent Instagram post.
"Maya I love you so much ❤️❤️❤️," wrote Heather Rae Young, who's husband Tarek El Moussa added, "I’m so sorry maya❤️❤️❤️."
Selling Tampa lead Sharelle Rosado commented, "Omg NOO so sorry for your loss 💔 I know words can’t help right now with what you are going through. You and your family will be in my prayers at this tough time."
Prior to becoming pregnant for the third time, the real estate agent told Us Weekly that she and her husband were undecided about expanding their family.
"We’re going back and forth because it’s a lot of work. Both me and my husband are very busy, which is a good thing. I do like a big family. That being said, I don’t know," she shared. "We’ll see. I’m 50/50 with that. It depends what day you’re gonna ask me that question."
The fourth season of Selling Sunset debuted on November 24, and it's already been renewed for at least two more seasons.
