A pretty little appetite!
Though Shay Mitchell declared she "truly" doesn't believe in dieting, the actress does stick to her "food philosophy" of "everything in moderation."
The star allows herself to eat whatever she likes, but she's well aware of the fact that she's also setting an example for her and boyfriend Matt Babel's 17-month-old daughter, Atlas.
"I want her to be conscious about what she's eating and where she gets it from," Mitchell shared. "We have been taking her to the farmers market, and I like her knowing that this food came from a specific place."
While talking to Women's Health, the Pretty Little Liars alum revealed she has the same breakfast every morning.
After a workout, the brunette babe whips up an egg quesadilla with spinach, cheese and mushrooms. The savory meal, along with a smoothie, are "super filling," she said.
For lunch, Mitchell makes a lean pizza using a frozen crust made from broccoli or cauliflower. She adds arugula or spinach for an extra dose of veggies and then drizzles on everyone's favorite dressing: ranch!
Come dinner time, the Bliss author tries out different healthy dishes that include staples likes fish, pasta or sweet potatoes — though she insisted the recipes have to be "super simple."
"I'm not a chef by any means, but I do love food," she declared.
And just like the rest of us, the You star gets hungry in between meals. To satisfy her cravings, "I'll usually have vegetables cut up with hummus. "I love hummus with anything; I mean everything with hummus just tastes better."
She also acknowledged that some of her snack choices are more like mini meals, such as her favorite plate of a "Beyond Meat lettuce wrap with sweet potato fries."
On the sweeter side, the mom-of-one sticks to Wholesome Organics' line of candy, as well as ice cream. Her fave flavors include Wanderlust Creamery's Ube Crunch and Mango Sticky Rice.
"I'm also a huge fan of Jeni's Ice Cream," she added. "And then I love doughnuts, too. I love everything. There's not a dessert I don't like, to be honest."
