Animated Aussie Chris Hemsworth lends his booming voice to alien do-gooder Optimus Prime in the feature-length cartoon Transformers One.

The new science fiction flick comes more than a decade after the musclebound movie hunk first caught lightning in a bottle with his starring role in Marvel’s Thor.

Here are ten things you don’t know about the 41-year-old Avengers superhero.

1. Kip and Hemmy are his childhood nicknames.

2. Hemsworth recalled accidentally stabbing his left palm with an “absurdly large knife” while fishing in the Outback when he was “six or seven,” and the massive blade left him with a scar he still has to this day.
