Vanessa Williams, 61, Explains Why She Refuses to Get Botox, Fillers or Go Under the Knife: 'I Want People to Know This Face Has Lived'
Vanessa Williams is fully embracing the aging process.
The Ugly Betty star, 61, revealed she hasn't gotten any Botox, fillers or even a facelift — and doesn't plan to despite being one of Hollywood's most iconic beauties.
"We were literally just talking about fillers, Botox, who's had work, who hasn't done work," she explained in a recent interview. "I have not gotten any... I don't do fillers, I don't do Botox anymore. I haven't had a facelift, I do micro-current and nano-current technology, which is amazing."
Williams emphasized how happy she was to make it to her sixties. "I want to look like myself," she explained. "I want people to know this face has lived. That's kind of where I am at this point, at 61."
The Kiss of the Spiderwoman actress isn't the only person in her group of friends following suit. "I look at Diane von Furstenberg, I just watched her doc. She was talking about embracing the wisdom and the age that you are," she added.
"Yeah, there's some wrinkles," Williams pointed out. "But that's because I have sat out in the sun for too long. But I love the sun, d-----! If the sun is out, I will sit out in the sun and do my crossword and have a nice glass of wine. If that shows on my décolleté, too bad. I'm embracing my age."
Despite not going under the knife, the former Miss America winner prioritizes taking care of herself in a healthy way. "I do bio-identical hormones. I do testosterone, progesterone and estrogen. I do sublingual drops for liver, kidney, adrenal. I do stem cell under my tongue as well," she admitted. "So, I've got all the tricks that keep me feeling good. I kick box, I lift weights, I cycle, I swim, I do whatever it takes. I want to stay alive."
Williams has always been open about getting older and how she's never feared the process. "You're living in your own glory. You accept yourself, you give yourself grace," she said during a 2023 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
"And you don't beat yourself up the way when we're 20s and 30s, 'I've gotta do this, I've gotta be this, I gotta please people.' So there is a sense of satisfaction and ease the older you get. And I am embracing that and love it," the Broadway star noted.
