Get Creative and Have Fun! Why You Shouldn't Throw Away Your Used Soda Bottles
Nowadays glass bottles have become a thing of the past, and everyone’s going for the 2-liter bottles — but that leaves a lot of plastic to throw away! Instead of tossing them, you can turn them into craft projects your whole family will love.
Bowling
Paint the bottles in your kids’ or grandkids’ favorite colors and have a small plastic ball on hand to bowl them over!
Bird Feeders
If you love seeing pretty little tweeters around your home and patio, use the bottles to create beautiful bird feeders. You can use any color scheme you want, and these little feeders take very little time to create. Paint them or cover them with fabric swatches and hang them wherever your little bird friends may visit. Fill with some inexpensive bird seed and voilà!
Christmas Snowflakes
You just need the bottoms of the bottles and you can use them in various different colors or paint clear ones, whatever you have on hand. Tie a ribbon or string at the top and you have a nice ornament the kids will love making.
Piggy Banks
You can turn those plastic bottles into great little piggy banks. Just paint them or decorate with stickers then cut a hole in the top so you can deposit those coins. Remember, every little bit helps!
Lawn Sprinkler
This is great for your yard and also for kids who love playing in the sprinkler in the summer. All you do is poke holes in the bottle and then hook it up to your garden hose. Then let the fun begin!
Craft Containers
You can use the bottles to keep paint colors separated, store beads, yarn or other craft supplies. Simply cut the bottom off the bottle, turn sideways on a shelf and put your craft materials inside.
Cuff Bracelets
Kids love to make and wear these cute accessories. All you do is cut the bottle in half and then cut out bracelet-size cuffs. Kids can paint, color or glue their favorite pictures or shapes to them. You can even punch holes in the ends and tie ribbons or yarn together to keep them together.
