Zooey Deschanel isn't afraid to show her true authentic self to the world!
"I'm wiser, but I've always been pretty confident in who I am. Since I was a kid, I've always had a very strong sense of self. I knew who I was from a very young age, and I knew what was me," the actress, 44, exclusively tells Morning Honey while talking about her partnership with Vera Bradley and her favorite items from the Winter + Holiday collections.
"Having confidence in myself is something that comes kind of naturally to me," the New Girl star adds. "I'm not afraid to take chances if I feel really confident in something. I'm not going to take a chance because somebody else is pushing me to."
When dressing up, the brunette beauty has a very important philosophy she lives by.
"Knowing what looks good on yourself and being confident in that if you like it, you don't need to be forced into doing something else for someone else. It's important to enjoy what you're wearing and pick out things that you love and feel good!" she shares.
Whether on a red carpet or out and about, Deschanel has always stayed true to who she is.
"I've gotten a little more classic as I've gotten older, but I'm still into the same silhouettes I've always been into," she notes of her fashion sense evolving. "Maybe I keep it a little more classic with my color palettes and stuff, but I've always been into the same certain aesthetic."
"I never want to wear what people want you to wear," she adds. "I don't want to wear something because I think somebody else wants me to wear it. It's really important to feel good about what you wear and feel like it reflects your personality. It's self-expression through fashion."
The singer, who is engaged to Jonathan Scott, is all about feeling like a million bucks, so it made sense for her to partner up with Vera Bradley ahead of the holiday season since she knows the bags are a great addition to any outfit. "I'm super stoked because I've always loved their quilted bags!" she gushes. "They're very practical and fun. I love the classic Vera Bradley aesthetic, but now that they've expanded their line to offer more elevated styles and evening bags, it's really great. I was excited to kind of introduce the world to more Vera Bradley bags."
Some of the star's favorites include the Taper Dumpling Bag In Purple Metallic Leather, the Heritage Bear Crossbody In Goji Berry Red Leather, the Astoria Shoulder Bag In Sea Moss Velvet and the Mini Hathaway Tote in Bossanova Bold Sequin Leather.
"They are all so fun but yet really practical with a lot of pockets and good for travel. They are good for all kinds of situations but are a little more elegant," she explains. "I love the printed bags, but I like to have solids, too. The design team did such a great job. It's nice to have different bags for different times of day and for different areas of my life."
The mom-of-two likes to have her bag "match my outfit," which is why she loves switching up her bag selection.
"I'm excited for people to see the holiday styles! They are out on Thursday, October 3, and they're going to be a great gift for others!" she concludes.
